TESTIMONIALS

What IS Coaching Anyway?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines it as: The partnering with clients in a thought-provoking way and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

How Can Coaching Benefit Me?

  • Coaching helps you work towards your goals.

  • Coaching removes the isolation of always having to go it alone. Coaching puts you on a team, with a person in your corner invested in your success, providing feedback and encouragement.

  • Coaching will help you gain perspective, with a coach offering objective support and guidance, instead of whatever those voices in your head normally do.

  • Coaching creates deeper learning and better self-understanding, allowing individuals to test out new skills in new situations and become their baddest most impressive selves. How can you say no to that?

But What You Really Want To Know Is:

How Do I Trust You?

That one’s easy. I am a professional transition-er. From my days growing up as an Army brat to completely upending my 25 year career in 2019 to become a professional coach AND move with my wife to Miami right before the start of a global pandemic, I’ve spent my life pivoting in pursuit of authenticity and happiness. I understand the scary cycle of transitions, from that unsettling itchy feeling that something’s not right, to the attempted denial that comes right after. The good news?

We’re all much braver than we think.

You might not know how to get exactly where you want to be, but simply surrendering to the discomfort, puts you on the path to empowerment.

From there, you become UNSTOPPABLE

Tell Me MORE

Just like any other personal or professional relationship, it’s important to partner with someone you feel connected to. Consider this my unofficial coaching dating profile to provide more insight into both what makes me different as a coach, as well as some quirky facts that make me, well, me.

  • You are my priority and I promise to be present during our sessions.

  • I. DO. NOT. JUDGE.

  • I have incredible patience.

  • I am able to offer insightful clarity and observations when necessary.

  • I have a great sense of humor and can find the funny in anything.

  • I am energized by connecting with and helping others grow.

  • I love plants, art and documentaries...oh and football.

  • I am a Fine Arts photographer. Code name: The Funky Photog.

  • I was lost in Wembley Stadium as a toddler.

  • I was hit by a car at age 6 — ending my football dreams.

  • I drew a poster for my wife’s 40th birthday, that got us interviewed by the Today Show’s Al Roker. (Lenny Kravitz performed. It was a good day!)

  • I went to college with EGOT winner, Viola Davis.

  • I’ve been married to my wife Dawn since 1999; together since 1992. It remains one of my proudest accomplishments and has helped hone my communication skills. (And maybe mediation skills.)

  • I am THE pancake connoisseur. Try me.

André M. Brown is an experienced, dynamic, empathetic facilitator and program development expert with over thirty years experience assisting a diverse population improve their lives. Prior to relocating to Miami in late 2019, André spent most of his professional career in service for the State of Rhode Island, including eight years as a clinical training specialist for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families, where he created and implemented trainings in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging space, often serving as a mediator between conflicting opinions, to encourage respectful conversation.

In 2020, in response to the tragedies of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, André founded Racial Just Us, a division of his business Jump Street Coaching, as a way to help others create actionable meaningful racial change. Combining his expertise as a trainer and International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach, he developed, Coaching For Community, a coaching and education program for Black allies, that helps participants create a personalized  anti-racism approach meaningful to them. As a result of its incredible flexibility, the applications of Coaching for Community have expanded beyond its anti-racism roots, to be an innovative and impactful way for participants to accept and appreciate the wide range of differences in all people.

André is incredibly passionate about affecting systematic change in the DEIB space, serving as the Vice President of DEIB for the South Florida chapter of ICF, where his duties include leading local chapter efforts to positively influence the field of professional coaching, as well as presenting self-developed trainings like Social Impact: An Anti-Racism Perspective. He also serves as a DEIB focused virtual coach on multiple on-line platforms, consulting and collaborating with clients to deeply understand their needs, then assisting to develop solutions to maneuver through often difficult situations with patience and humility. A New England Patriot fan for life, he's still waiting for Tom Brady to return the team to its former glory.
